Why is it called abc WORLD news?

why on earth is abc WORLD news called WORLD news? DO they ever talk about anything but news that we see about USA that we do not see on any other channel 24/7? Is it Ignorance?.... innocence??... or just plain AMERICAN ARROGANCE! WORLD news is supposed to mean, news about the world!!! not about your own country... take a cue ABC... its WORLD news... look up websters if you do not know what hte meaning of world news is!!

1. Yes, because it is SUPPOSED to cover ALL the things happening all over the earth. Now whether or not that happens depends on what is going on in the US at the time of each broadcast. Personally, I just don't watch the news anymore...it isn't very accurate and very depressing...we won't even mention biased. Sorry!!

3. You seem to be a little worked up over a title. That said -- ABC (and the others) serve America, and Americans want American news for the most part. Should world events be part of the program? Absolutely. Indeed, Peter Jennings specialized on world coverage and helped establish ABC as the network leader. But in an era of budget cuts and bureau closings, it's tough to cover events overseas.
